• Policy on Library Users

The Thorp Public Library will serve all residents of the City of Thorp, the surrounding townships, other libraries in the Wisconsin Valley Library Service area and any Inter or Intra system area which would request items of us. This includes the nearest neighboring system, Indianhead Federated Library System headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Each patron will be issued a card with no charge. Replacement cards shall be provided with a $2.00 replacement fee.

The use of the library may be denied for due cause. Such cause may be failure to return library materials or to pay penalties, destruction of library property, disturbance of other patrons, or any other illegal, disruptive, or objectionable conduct on library premises.

The Thorp Public Library adheres to the principle of free and open access of its entire collection without any restriction based on age.

Responsibility for the reading materials of minors rests with either their parents or legal guardians.

It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to supervise the actions of the children when they are in the library.

If any patron behaves in an inappropriate manner, the librarian will ask them to leave and proper authorities will be notified if necessary.
